About the Book

Red Thorns, book one in Rina Kent's Thorns Duet, is a scorching, enemies-to-lovers college romance filled with dangerous attraction, cruel games, and dark, unspoken desires from New York Times bestselling author and BookTok sensation Rina Kent. A bet turned into a disaster. Sebastian Weaver is the star quarterback and the college's heartthrob — rich, handsome, and a bastard. Everyone's attention flocked toward him, and all the girls dreamed of being with him. Not Naomi. At least, not until he made a move on her.

Naomi is a bit of an anti-social loner who joined the cheerleading squad at her mother's request, and has kept a long-held crush on Sebastian carefully hidden — never expecting to become the target of a cruel bet. She thought she was stronger than Sebastian's charms; she thought she could survive being his target. She thought wrong. As what starts as a game between Sebastian and his teammates spirals into something far more consuming, Naomi finds herself drawn into fantasies she never knew she had, while unresolved questions about her own absent father continue to haunt her in the background.

Told in dual perspectives and ending on a cliffhanger, Red Thorns is a dark new adult book that contains dubious situations some readers might find offensive and/or triggering, and is part of a duet — not a standalone. Fans describe it as a scorching cat-and-mouse read that goes from hot to depraved in no time, setting up the intense conclusion in its companion volume, Black Thorns.
